The US auto industry was told by Congress they wouldn’t receive any bailout money (it makes sense to me, considering their industry has been on iffy grounds for what feels like a decade now). Now they’re getting some.
My assumption is that Bush, in an attempt not to appear as a lame duck president, wants to end his term with a bang. This clever strategy may make him appear more favorable when new history books are being written a decade or so from now. Enjoy:
